Vets Dinnington v Dronfield

Dronfield vets/ 3rds travelled with a much-changed side with several players making their senior debut for Dronfield. Dinnington were first to score and proved they were more organised, than Dronfield makeshift back line. Dinnington, were dominant for the first 20 minutes and scored 4 tries and converted 3.
Dronfield then made several interchanges, with Veterans Rob Chadwick, Jamie Brown, and the "Wild Man "Chris Hale coming on alongside, debut winger Jack Crawley. Dronfield now began to get a foot hold in the game. Dronfield soon had chances to put points on the board but missed two penalties. Dronfield continued to pressurise the Dinington, defence with great work from Cameron Frith alongside Ellis Williams created some great go forward. Dronfield scored their first of 5 tries , when after a quick tap penalty by our scrum half josh Shaw, was held up short of the line quick hands by Jamie brown. And Oli Timms created space out wide for Jack Crawley to acrobatically score in the corner, with his first senior try for Dronfield . Half time score, 26-5. Dronfield started the second half, with a more positive attitude. Even after, standoff Chris Rodgers went off injured, With Charlie Beynon stepping into the fly half roll from full back. Debutant's Sam Whitehouse and Oli Timms were impressive in the back row both in attack and defence. Dronfield were soon on the score board again after a flowing move involving both backs and forced resulted in debutant winger Fin Kinsella scoring in the corner. Dinnington began to use their much larger and more experienced bench to great effect and resulted in a yellow card for Prop Ellis Williams, which meant a reshuffle in the front row. Dinnington used this extra man count, and soon scored their 5th trie. Dronfield heads didn't drop with Chris Hale leading from the front and motivating the players around him. With Dinnington now on the back foot . Pressure told with a yellow card issued to the Dinnington number 5. Dronfield kicked for touch from a penalty. Dronfield were now back up to a full 15,. From the line just inside the Dinnington 22, Dronfield attacked the Dinnington.
Trie line., with Will fiddler making some massive yards. Dronfield continued to attack through the forwards, and from close to the line Ellis Williams crashed over, for his first senior try for Dronfield. Dinnington, continued to rotate their bench, and with fresher legs, where able to make their way up the field. Dinnington soon scored again from close range and crashed over for another try. This inspired Dronfield, to step up their attack and we're soon into the Dinnington half from a quick tap penalty gave second rower Jamie Brown the chance to crash through Dinnington defence then out pacing the cover defence he dived over for Dronfields 4th try. The restart by Dinnington fell short of the 10-meter line, and so with less than a minute to go. Dronfield chose to run the ball from the base of the scrum, Dronfield's backs showed their skills and pace, to get the ball close to the Dinnington try line but was tackled short of the line, but Dronfield forwards then showed their skills, and dogged determination, to recycle the ball phase after phase. And with the clock over the 80th minute, Dronfield got the ball wide for the "Ginger Ninja" Jacob Blanksby to score Dronfields 5 try . This was a game of two Half's, but "The Dronfield way" shone through and the never say die attitude to of all the players, was fantastic. Dronfields man of the match was chosen by Dinnington and went to second row Jamie Brown. UTD 👍
