Welcome to the website of Dronfield Rugby Union Football Club

We are based in the heart of the Gosforth Valley on the outskirts of the city of Sheffield, within easy reach of the A61 and M1.  We play our rugby in the Powergen Midlands leagues.  Please feel free to look through our site, which holds information on the teams, our history, some good picture galleries and our sponsors, who keep the club going financially.

We run two senior sides at the present time, both involved in league, cup and friendly fixtures. Our home ground is at Gosforth Fields, Dronfield Woodhouse. Plans have been drawn up in conjunction with two local football clubs for the construction of a purpose built clubhouse/sports pavilion. Funding for the project is almost in place and we look forward to a bright future for the club. Once the clubhouse is built we anticipate re-establishing Mini and Junior sides. We continue to have strong links with the local universities and have students and ex- students representing the club each week. In recent seasons we've had players from France, The Far East, New Zealand and South Africa amongst our club members. For the second consecutive season the club has reached the final of County Cup/Shield competitions. We rounded off last season by being Joint Champions of the Derbyshire Shield.

If you want to play rugby and like what you see here then you are more than welcome to come and give it a go on our training night, every Thursday starting at 6.45pm on Gosforth Fields, everybody's welcome.
